These policies are in place to protect the time of our artists and clients and to help the studio run as smoothly as possible.
Bookings & Deposits
A deposit is required to secure all tattoo appointments. The amount required may vary depending on the artist, tattoo and length of the appointment and will be confirmed at the time of booking.
All deposits are non-refundable.
Providing sufficient notice is given, your deposit can be transferred to a new appointment date. Any rescheduled appointment must take place within one year of the original booking.
Your artist may have additional booking requirements for larger or ongoing projects, which will be explained to you when arranging your appointment.
When completing our booking form, you agree to complete the form fully and to the best of your ability and you understand that enquiries with insufficient information may not receive a response.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact your artist or the studio as soon as possible.
If you give us at least 48 hours’ notice, your appointment can be rescheduled and your deposit transferred to the new booking.
If you cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours’ notice, your deposit will be lost and a new deposit will be required to secure another appointment.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of an appointment may also incur an additional charge to cover some of the time that has been reserved for you.
If an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours, or you do not attend your appointment without notice, you may be liable for the full quoted cost of the appointment.
Our cancellation policy applies to all appointments, including cancellations due to illness. We appreciate that unexpected circumstances happen, so please contact us as soon as you know you may be unable to attend.
Full-Day & Longer Appointments
When you book a full-day or extended session, a significant portion of your artist’s working day is reserved specifically for you.
If a session finishes considerably earlier than planned at the client’s request or because the client chooses not to continue, a charge may be made to cover some of the time that had been reserved.
Your artist will discuss this with you where applicable.
Pricing & Payment
Tattoo prices vary depending on the artist, size, placement, complexity and time required.
Your artist will discuss pricing with you as part of the booking process. Unless specifically agreed as a fixed price, quotes should be treated as an estimate, as the final cost may depend on the amount of time required to complete the tattoo
Age Requirements
You must be 18 years of age or over to be tattooed at Electric Lady Tattoos. We cannot tattoo anyone under the age of 18, even with parental or guardian consent.
We may ask you to provide valid photographic identification before your appointment. If we are unable to verify your age, we will not be able to tattoo you.
Preparing for Your Appointment
Please arrive for your appointment well rested, hydrated and having eaten a good meal beforehand.
You should not consume alcohol before your tattoo appointment. Arriving under the influence of alcohol or drugs may mean that we are unable to tattoo you and could result in the loss of your appointment and deposit.
Health, Allergies & Your Tattoo
Tattooing involves breaking the skin and, as with any procedure of this nature, carries certain risks, including infection and the possibility of an allergic or adverse reaction.
Before being tattooed, you will be given the opportunity to ask questions and should make your artist aware of any relevant medical conditions, allergies, medications or other circumstances that could affect the tattooing or healing process.
Our artists cannot determine in advance whether an individual will experience an allergic or adverse reaction.
We reserve the right to postpone or refuse a tattoo where we believe proceeding would be unsafe or inappropriate.
Consent
Before your tattoo begins, you will be asked to complete and sign our consent documentation confirming that the information you have provided is accurate, that you understand the tattooing process and that you consent to being tattooed.
Please ask your artist if there is anything you don’t understand or would like to discuss before giving your consent.
Aftercare
Looking after your tattoo properly is an important part of the healing process.
Your artist will provide you with aftercare advice following your appointment. It is your responsibility to follow these instructions carefully to minimise the risk of infection and help your tattoo heal as well as possible.
If you have any concerns about your tattoo during the healing process, please contact your artist or the studio for advice.
Designs & Artwork
Custom tattoo designs are created specifically for our clients by our artists. The artwork remains the intellectual property of the artist who created it and should not be copied, reproduced or taken elsewhere to be tattooed without their permission.
If you would like to make a significant change to the design, style, size or concept originally discussed with your artist, please let them know as early as possible. Substantial changes may require additional drawing time or, in some cases, the appointment to be rearranged.
Photography & Social Media
Our artists regularly photograph and film their work for portfolios, the Electric Lady website and social media.
If you would prefer not to have your tattoo photographed or shared, please let your artist know. We will respect your wishes.
Respecting Our Studio
Electric Lady Tattoos is committed to providing a welcoming, comfortable and respectful environment for our clients, artists and visitors.
Abusive, threatening, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated, and we reserve the right to refuse service or end an appointment where necessary.
Your Personal Information
Any personal information collected as part of your booking or consent process will be handled appropriately and used only where necessary for the administration of your appointment, tattooing process, studio records and any other purposes you have specifically consented to.
Further information about how we collect, store and use personal information can be found in our Privacy Policy.
Agreement to Our Terms
By paying a deposit and confirming an appointment with Electric Lady Tattoos, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted the booking, deposit and cancellation terms outlined above.
You will also be asked to complete the relevant consent documentation before being tattooed.
If you have any questions about these terms or your appointment, please contact the studio or speak directly with your chosen artist before booking.
