Electric Lady Tattoos has been part of Reading's tattoo scene for over 16 years.
Founded by Adam Davey, the studio's name was inspired by Jimi Hendrix's iconic 1968 album Electric Ladyland - a fitting name for a place centred around art, individuality and self-expression.
Electric Lady has grown and evolved considerably since those early days, while keeping its roots firmly in tattooing and creativity.
Today, while Adam Davey still returns to guest spot at the studio, Electric Lady is proudly owned and run by Adam Williams, who has helped shape the studio into the Electric Lady you see today.
We've never wanted Electric Lady to feel clinical or intimidating.
Our Crown Street studio is colourful, eclectic and full of character, with artwork, tattoo history and all sorts of things collected along the way. It's a working tattoo studio with a personality of its own, and we like it that way.
There's a warmth and nostalgia to Electric Lady that draws inspiration from the late '60s and '70s, alongside our love for the rich history and heritage of tattooing. More than anything, we want the studio to feel relaxed, creative and welcoming.
Somewhere you can walk through the door, have a chat and feel comfortable being yourself.
Electric Lady is now home to eight talented artists, bringing together decades of experience and a huge variety of styles under one roof.
From black and grey realism, traditional and Japanese tattooing to fine line, illustrative work, colour, anime and plenty in between, each artist brings something different to the studio.
We've never felt that everyone under one roof needs to make the same kind of work. The individuality of the people here is a big part of what makes Electric Lady what it is.
